I can't believe you think a person drawing something with their own characters and creations is a bad thing. Please don't forget that what is right and wrong in your english-speaking community doesn't necessarily apply to our cultures.
My problem isn’t with mogeko doing as she wishes with her characters- it’s the portrayal of child rape. Rape is not something to be drawn in such a light way as that, even if the characters are your own or your culture says otherwise.
However, you are right- in my anger with this community I did forget the huge culture difference that there is concerning such subject matter. Mogeko probably did not regard it to be as wrong as it is in the western world, and I suppose that’s just how things are. Her mistake was simply unintentional, I am guessing. My apologies for that, and thank you for reminding me of that barrier.
Despite that, though, it still remains that such a thing should not be regarded as right. Rape is something that destroys people and their lives. However much a culture may normalize it or minimize the negativity it is viewed with, it is still inherently wrong, and the people who live in cultures where they are educated on the severity of it should not be desensitized to it or try to look past it simply because another place in the world teaches differently. I understand mogeko did not realize just how awful what she drew is because of the way her culture is. At the end of the day it is still a disgusting, offensive image that people shouldn’t try to make excuses for, though it is also one born out of the lack of knowing better.
I would like to thank you again for bringing the culture difference to my attention and not being as rude you could be about it, and I wish you a wonderful day.
